The Centre Offers
a. AICTE approved six semesters (three years) Diploma in Electronics Production and Maintenance (DEPM) to meet the requirement of industry by creating dedicated and immediate productive technicians.
b. AICTE approved four semesters (two years) M. Tech in Electronics Design and Technology [M. Tech (EDT)] to produce Electronics Design Engineers. These courses are practical oriented and are designed with an emphasis on design and project work. The quality of education is maintained by periodic review and update of syllabus considering the latest trends and needs of industry, in-depth study by the students through semester system, transparent evaluation system and flexibility being autonomy granted to the Centre by Dr. B.A.M. University, Aurangabad (M.S). The Centre enjoys the reputation of its students getting employed in reputed industries and organizations almost immediately on their completion of courses or settled as successful entrepreneur.
Master of Technology in Electronics Design & Technology [M. Tech (EDT)]
This is a four semesters (2 years) course which grooms students for a high profile career in design and development of electronic products. The course is approved by AICTE, New Delhi.
Eligibility
a) B.E. / B. Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) Degree or equivalent in Electronics /Electrical / Telecommunication / Computers / Instrumentation engineering from a recognized University with at least 55% of marks (relaxable to 50% for candidates belonging to SC / ST category). A candidate with BE / B Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering with exceptional aptitude and knowledge in electronics may also be considered. Those, who have appeared for engineering graduate degree and awaiting results before 30th June, 2008 are also eligible to apply.
b) The candidate should have passed the GATE examination with minimum score of 80 percentile. OR The candidate should have been serving in Academic Institution/Industry / R&D organization engaged in electronic product or system development for at least two years and should be sponsored by the employer. He should produce necessary sponsorship certificate alongwith application in the prescribed form. OR Foreign nationals having equivalent degree of a recognised university. Admission of foreign nationals is subjected to the guidelines laid down by Government of India from time to time. Foreign nationals should apply through proper channel.
c) Non GATE candidate may also apply but their application will be considered only if GATE candidates are not available and the seats are vacant.
Intake * 18 (10 + 5 + 3)
Categories: Non-sponsored (Open/OBC/SC/ST & PD) and sponsored * Seats are reserved as per Govt. of India Rules and AICTE Approval. Intake likely to be increased in view of implementation of reservation for OBC. Competent authority's approval is awaited.
Selection
Candidates will be short listed based on the minimum eligibility criteria. The selection for admission to M. Tech (EDT) program, from the short listed candidates will be based on their performance in an written entrance test and interview to be conducted in the month of July/August. Seats are reserved for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per Government of India Rules and AICTE, New Delhi Approval.
Provisional admission will be granted on the basis of order of merit of the candidate as per the category-wise merit list, prepared on the basis of performance of candidates in written test and interview. As per admission norms, the admission process continues till * Eighteen * (18) candidates (approved intake of M. Tech course) are admitted to the M. Tech Course by operating the category-wise main (selected) list and then, the category-wise waiting list, if required. The category-wise main (selected) list and waiting list of the candidates for admission to 18th batch (2008-09) of M. Tech Course will be displayed on the Notice Board of this Centre. The date and time for operation of the waiting list shall also be declared alongwith the list of selected candidates. All the wait listed candidates should make themselves available at the time of operation of the waiting list otherwise their claim shall be forfeited. The wait listed candidates, available at the time of operation of the waiting list, shall be provisionally admitted as per the merit of the category-wise waiting list. The selected main and waiting list candidates are required to register on the day as notified alongwith the list displayed by making payment as mentioned above, otherwise their claim shall be forfeited. Admission process of the M. Tech Course is completed when the * Eighteen * (18) candidates are provisionally admitted and registered or a time limit decided by the competent authority, whichever is earlier.
The GATE candidates will be considered first as per the above process. Non-GATE candidates will be considered against the category wise vacancies as per the above process, if GATE candidates are not available.
Scholarship
Non-sponsored students, admitted to the M Tech (EDT) course, provided they have passed the GATE examination, are eligible for the scholarship of Rs. 5000/- per month, subject to sanction and receipt of the said amount from AICTE New Delhi. Since academic session 2002-03, the Institute is applying and receiving Grant-in-Aid for Scholarship @ Rs 5000/- per month per Gate passed & nonsponsored student from AICTE, New Delhi, the scholarship amount shall be reimbursed to the students on the receipt of the grant from AICTE, New Delhi by the institute. The award of scholarship and its continuation is subject to regular attendance, satisfactory progress, good conduct and abiding by the rules of the Institute. Sponsored or Non-Gate students are not entitled for the said scholarship. The tuition fee is exempted for SC/ST candidates only, subject to his/her applying for the same and fulfilling the conditions.
It is obligatory for every student, granted admission to M. Tech (EDT) and awarded scholarship, to undertake at least 10 hours per week of work related to teaching and for research activities as assigned to him / her.
Assistance in Placement
The placement wing of the Centre offers all assistance to the students interested in securing an appropriate employment. The students of this course have been well received by the Industries.
Entrance Test for M. Tech (EDT)
The entrance written test for admission to first year of M. Tech (EDT) of DOEACC Centre (formerly CEDTI), Aurangabad will be to test the following:
1. Basic aptitude of the candidate towards the Design and Technology.
2. Knowledge of the candidate in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science / IT and allied subjects.
The entrance written test will be of 1½ hours duration and will be of objective type, wherein the candidate is provided multiple choice answers and he/she is required to mark the correct answer in the same sheet, provided to him/her. In addition to above, the test may also have short answer subjective type of questions and fill in the blanks. The candidates are required to bring Pen, HB Pencil, Sharpner and Eraser. Candidates are not allowed to take the Question/Answer booklet outside the examination hall.
TEST WILL BE IN ENGLISH MEDIUM ONLY.
CALCULATORS, MOBILE, DIGITAL DIARY, POCKET PCs, MOBILE PHONE, LOG BOOKS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE EXAMINATION HALL.
Interview will be conducted for the candidates, short listed basis of on the performance in written test.
DIPLOMA IN ELECTRONICS PRODUCTION AND MAINTENANCE (DEPM)
This is a three years (Six Semesters) course which grooms students for a career as Production/Maintenance Supervisor or Design Assistant in Electronics or allied industry or entrepreneur. The course is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and Board of Technical Education, Maharashtra.
Eligibility
Xth standard passed from a recognized Board with a minimum average score of 50% (relaxable to 45% for candidates belonging to SC/ST category only) in Mathematics and Science subjects. Those who have appeared for the Xth standard examination and awaiting results before June 30, 2008 are also eligible to apply.
Age Limit
The candidate's age should not be less than 15 years and more than 19 years as on July 01, 2008. The relaxation in upper age limit is two (2) years for SC & ST candidates and five (5) years for person with Disabilities (PD), candidates.
Intake: 60 (30 + 16 + 09 + 05)
Category: Open/OBC/SC/ST, and PD
Seats are reserved as per Govt. of India Rules and AICTE Approval.

The selection for admission to DEPM program from the short listed candidates will be based on their performance in an entrance written test and interview, to be conducted in the month of July/August. Seats are reserved for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per Government of India Rules and AICTE, New Delhi Approval.

As per admission norms, the admission process continues till sixty (60) candidates (approved intake of DEPM course) are admitted to the DEPM Course by operating the category-wise main (selected) list and then, the category-wise waiting list, if required. The category-wise main (selected) list and waiting list of the candidates for admission to 22nd batch (2008-09) of DEPM Course will be displayed on the Notice Board of this Centre. The date and time for operation of the waiting list shall also be declared alongwith the list of selected candidates. All the wait listed candidates should make themselves available at the time of operation of the waiting list, otherwise their claim shall be forfeited. The wait listed candidates, available at the time of operation of the waiting list, shall be provisionally admitted as per the merit of the category-wise waiting list. The selected main and waiting list candidates are required to register on the day as notified alongwith the list displayed by making payment as mentioned above, otherwise their claim shall be forfeited. Admission process of the DEPM Course is completed when the sixty (60) candidates are provisionally admitted and registered or a time limit decided by the competent authority, which ever is earlier.
Scholarship
The institute encourages and provides assistance to all the students, particularly the reserved category, to apply for the Central / State Govt. scholarship for reimbursement of tuition fee and maintenance allowance as per State Govt. rules. The tuition fee is exempted for SC/ST candidates only, subject to his/her applying for the same and fulfilling the conditions.
Entrance Test for DEPM
The entrance written test for admission to first year of Diploma in Electronics Production and Maintenance (DEPM) will be to test the candidate's basic knowledge in Science (Physics & Chemistry) & Mathematics subjects i.e. a candidate will be tested for his/her aptitude towards the engineering curriculum as envisaged by the Centre.

Reservation :
As per Government of India's Policy, there is a reservation for persons, belonging to socially and educationally backward classes and persons with Disabilities (Physically Handicapped Persons) in education. All reservations are not of the same nature. There are two types of reservations, which May, for the sake of convenience, be referred to as "Vertical Reservations" and "Horizontal Reservations". The reservations in favor of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (OBCs), made under article 16 (4), may be called vertical reservations whereas reservations in favour of physically handicapped, made under clause (1) of Article 16, can be referred as horizontal reservations, horizontal reservations cut across the vertical reservations, called as "interlocking reservation".
Percentage of Reservation :
As per Government of India Rules, there is a reservation of 27% of seats for the OBCs, 15% of seats for the SCs and 7.5% of seats for the STs in admission to various courses. Further there is a reservation of at least 3% of seats for Persons with Disabilities (PDs) as per section 39 of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995. Since the reservation for PDs the horizontal reservations is interlocking reservations, the candidate selected against this quota will be placed in the appropriate category, that is, if the candidate belongs to SC/ST category. He/She will be placed in that quota by making necessary adjustments. Similarly if the candidate belongs to General/Open category, he/she will be placed in that category/quota by making necessary adjustment.
With regard to the process of implementation of reservation for the OBCs, as per the directives of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Govt. of India for Central Educational Institutions (CEIs) vide OM NO. 1-1/2005-U.1A/847 dated 20th April, 2008, it should be ensured that the seats available in the unreserved category are not reduced, while implementing the reservation for the OBCs and bear in mind that there may be a proportionate increase in the seats for the categories of SCs and STs also. This necessitates increase in seats/intake, particularly for PG Engineering courses. The competent authority had been approached in this regard. The reply is awaited. The reservation for the OBCs shall be implemented accordingly.
Relaxation in Age
The relaxation in upper age limit is two (2) years for SC/ST candidates and five (5) years for Persons with Disabilities (PD) candidates.
Relaxation in Qualifying Marks :
The relaxation in qualifying marks is 5% for SC & ST candidates only.
Relaxation in cost of Prospectus cum Application Form:
The relaxation in cost of Prospectus cum Application Form is Rs 100/- for DEPM Course and Rs. 200/- for M. Tech. Course for SC, ST, & PD Candidates.
Guidelines for Filling the Application Form
1. The candidates are requested to fill-in the application form carefully in block letters. Use Blue ink preferably.
2. Write the course applying for at Sr. No. 1.
3. Write all the details asked in the Admit Card and the Acknowledgement Slip.
4. Signature of Parent is must for all candidates applying for DEPM course.
5. The Caste Certificate as per the enclosed format is required to be filled-in in case of reserved category candidates (OBC/SC/ST) or an attested photocopy of the caste certificate issued by the competent authority, as mentioned therein, should be enclosed.
6. 10th Standard (SSC) mark sheet or certificate shall only be recognized as the proof for date of birth. No other certificate / document shall be considered.
7. A sponsorship letter is to be submitted as per the format enclosed in case of sponsored candidate for M Tech. course.
8. A studentship certificate is to be submitted as per the format enclosed in case of candidate appearing in their final year of graduation or Xth class as the case be and who is applying for M. Tech. / DEPM course.
9. The candidates are required to produce their original certificates at the time of interview.
10. Selected candidates will have to submit all original certificates at the time of registration for the course.
11. Selected candidates are required to pay the fees as mentioned in the prospectus / call letter immediately on declaration on the selected list at the time of registration otherwise the claim of the candidate for the seat will be null & void (forfeited).
